Testimony
I feel Tae Kwon Do is a
mixture of so many things for kids, socializing with all
ages, fitness, discipline, respect, flexibility, focus,
memory, co-ordination and patience. As the kids go up in
belt color, they have to communicate and teach lower
belt ranks of all ages, so there is great sense of
self-esteem developed.
Another important aspect
of Tae Kwon Do is belonging to an organization that
really values kids at their own ability level.
My girls are 9 and 10
years old and are black belts, they always get asked
"How can I become black belt, how long does it take to
become a black belt and is it hard to be a black belt?"
My girls always answer......STICK WITH IT- DON'T QUIT...Thats
all you have to do.
The way my husband and I
kept our kids enthusiastic about TKD, is we joined as a
family. Practicing TKD together has brought us closer
together as a family.
We are a black belt
family. We are more excited about going to TKD classes
now than when we first started.

My kids got small
rewards and presents at home. Getting a belt was
a great family celebration with dinner and
presents. At home when they learned the patterns
(poomse) they got rewarded, number of situps or
pushups they got rewarded, when they learned
something new at class they got rewarded and
memorized something they got rewarded. With any
accomplishment , they got rewarded with
something small. We are lucky to live in the
small town of Nelson and have a program like
this with people who really care about you and
your kids. The feeling of becoming a black belt
is very gratifying. The inner rewards for the
kids are very important in their development.
Take advantage of this great TKD school. We have
some of the best instructors in the world,
Master Seminoff who is 4th degree, some 3rd
degrees and 2nd degrees teaching your kids. This
is one of the best martial arts programs in the
world.
